Delhis Sir Ganga Ram Hospital’s 37 doctors at the private facility were tested positive for the coronavirus infection on Thursday. Five doctors out of them are being admitted for the treatment.
Over the past few weeks, Delhi has witnessed a sharp spike in coronavirus cases; the daily case count has breached the 7,000-mark for the first time in this year. Sources at the hospital said that as many as many as 37 doctors were tested positive in the recent spike.
Delhi recorded 7,437 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, which is the highest single-day surge in this year. 24 deaths were reported due to the COVID-19, taking the death count to 11,157, as per the city’s Health Department.
A hospital source said that most of these doctors have mild symptoms and thirty-two doctors are in home isolation and the remaining five are admitted in the hospital for treatment.
Sir Ganga Ram Hospital is one of the facilities that has been at the forefront fighting against the coronavirus pandemic for almost a year.
